Dr. Jeyanthi Subramanian received her Doctorate degree in Education from The University of Hong Kong in 2010. Her thesis explores the key characteristics of teaching practices of an Indian mathematics teacher in Chennai, using the protocols of an international video study called the Learners’ Perspective Study (LPS). The characteristics of an Indian teacher are highlighted by comparing her major attributes with a teacher in Hong Kong and Australia.
She also received A in all modules and got awarded a plaque for the best overall results in theoretical and practical aspects for Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from The University of Hong Kong in 2003.
Dr. Jeyanthi Subramanian has presented her research both nationally and internationally including at the International Congress on Mathematics Education in South Korea, Normal University in Shanghai and the National University of Educational Planning and Administration in Delhi.
She has run workshops for school math teachers and teacher trainees in Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and India.
